XTRF™ - CAT tools integration

XTM – a leading translation environment based on web 2.0 technology. XTM is a complete and universal system and, at the same time, it is very easy to use. All of the participants of the process, i.e. project managers, translators and proofreaders, have access to project files through an Internet browser, which means that it is not necessary to install any additional components. The technology applied and the remote method of conducting work make it possible for project managers to have complete control over individual projects, while the assignment of subcontractors only requires the sending of the appropriate link. XTM enables the simultaneous work of a number of translators or the immediate proofreading of a translation. Everyone can work, in accordance with the rights that have been allocated, on a common translation memory and dictionary. XTM is based on open standards and is a fully scalable system, which can be adapted to each organisation – irrespective of its size. Its integration with XTRF™ has resulted in the creation of the most developed version of the system – XTRF-TM. The integration of XTRF™ with XTM enables the extensive automation of the creation, evaluation, and realisation of a project. Source files are analysed by XTM, and the XTRF™ system automatically assigns a rate that is defined for a particular client. After the evaluation is accepted by the client, the scheme of the project realisation (workflow) is selected in XTRF™. The project manager selects subcontractors for each stage of the project realisation process, while the XTRF™ system automatically assigns the rates according to the subcontractors’ profiles and receives an analysis of the number of words from the XTM system. The initiation of the workflow triggers the sending of messages to translators and proofreaders informing them about the start of the project, and the project is made available to them online together with the assigned XTM licence. After the completion of all the stages of the project, the output files are ready for the project manager’s acceptance and are then made available for receipt in the XTRF™ client portal.

memoQ – is a leading translation environment that is based on desktop technology, i.e. operating in the server-client configuration. Translators install the memoQ software on their own computers, which can then connect to the main server in order to download the projects that are assigned to them. This makes it possible for the translators to work with a shared translation database and glossary. Having finished their work, the translator or proofreader sends the ready files to the memoQ project server, and the server updates the translation database and glossary. The integration of XTRF™ with memoQ the extensive automation of the creation, evaluation, and realisation of a project. Source files are analysed by the memoQ system, and the XTRF™ system immediately assigns a rate that is defined for a particular client. After the evaluation is accepted by the client, the scheme of the project realisation (workflow) is selected in XTRF™. TRADOS & SDLX & LOGOPORT & DEJAVU XTRF™ ensures the smooth import of analyses in the .csv and .log formats that are generated by many of the translation process support (CAT) tools available on the market. The integration modules of individual CAT tools make it possible to automatically recalculate translation rates according to the discount tables previously agreed upon with customers and subcontractors. The advantage of this solution is that it saves the work time of project managers, and allows them to avoid errors that could occur in the event of the manual copying of numerical values. What is more, the co-operation of XTRF™ with CAT tools makes it possible to pursue a variable pricing policy for individual clients and subcontractors. |
