Interview with Marek Makosiej, Managing Director of CONTRAD

XTRF™: For how long have you been using the XTRF™ system? Has the system implementation influenced the company’s growth?
Marek Makosiej: CONTRAD LSP has been using the XTRF™ system since October 2008. The use of the system undoubtedly improved the workflow and it very positively influenced performance. Thanks to the system we were not forced to hire more employees and we could handle a greater number of orders with the same resources.

XTRF™: For beginning please tell us something about your company. How many employees and branches the Baltic Media has?

Aigars Apsans: Baltic Media Ltd operates in global markets since 1994 and is currently one of the leading suppliers in the segment of quality language services in Baltic and Scandinavian countries. Baltic Media has offices in all Baltic States – Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and one in Scandinavia - Stockholm, Sweden. So currently there are 4 branches which are supervised and managed by using XTRF system.

XTRF™: How has project management changed at King’s Translations following the implementation of XTRF™?

Caroline Walcot: No job gets forgotten, however small.  It’s also easy to update deadline dates, add in new documents, change translators, contact names and other job parameters, record client feedback, and keep everything efficiently together as a package. That’s vital at the invoicing stage.

Interview with Ralf van den Haute, CEO of LNE International

XTRF™: Why did you decide on the XTRF system?

Ralf van den Haute: In 2008 we started to look for a replacement for our workflow server. Having tested various solutions we came across XTRF and decided that it best met our specifications. Basically, we were looking for a major upgrade as the project management software we had been using was no longer being serviced by the developer, and had become obsolete.

XTRF™: Congratulations, you are the first XTRF™ client in South America! Could you tell me why you chose our system?

Ulisses Bognar: Ez2translate started its operation in 2009, almost at the same time that the World Financial Crisis reached its worst period. Facing almost the same problems as all other new businesses faced in the outset and having a tight budget to invest in technology, especially in an uncertain scenario, we had only one chance to choose the right system that could help us to manage our business. XTRF seemed to be the right solution at that time, and we still believe it is the right solution: a system that fits the JOB and is easily expandable when necessary.

Just as the XTRF Management Systems was approached by the Yekaterinburg-based Passo Avanti translation agency, it became clear that the agency is facing a lingering decision on its way to finding a TMS of its “own”.       Today, however, the company is among the many satisfied XTRF customers.

Mestako is a full service translation agency which was established by translation business professionals in 2005. From the very beginning Mestako was the authorised SDL Trados reseller in the Baltic countries (Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania). We understood and we also understand today the importance of technology and innovation in translation business. However, just the use of the latest CAT tools is not enough, you need much more. Thus, it took us 2 years to find the most competitive and flexible project management system in the market. We analyzed competing products and XTRF offered the best price–performance ratio. Before using XTRF, we used our own system which we invented using Microsoft products, but – never again.

XTRF™: How long have you been working with the XTRF™ system?
Gaetan Chretiennot: We’ve been fully using XTRF since October 1, 2009. And, to be honest, I can’t imagine working without XTRF anymore!
