It was a cold Friday morning when I boarded the plane in Krakow for Malaysia two weeks ago. As I was landing, now Saturday, I saw vast fields of palm trees, which I love so much, and a colorful landscape filled with sunlight. A few hours later, I was swimming in a hotel pool overlooking the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. It felt so good to be there because back in Central Europe they are still waiting for spring to come.
The opportunity for this trip was due to LocWorld, who decided to organize its Asian event in the heart of Malaysia. I could hardly think of a better place to meet industry partners from the Asian region, and at the same time meet active players in the translation market from Europe and America.
It was a true pleasure for me to share with the audience our presentation, XTRF Case Study and Success Story, on how openness and sharing knowledge builds trust and understanding with clients. I showed how we managed to build an idea exchange forum for the XTRF users community as a response to our clients’ need for discussion, to have an opportunity to influence product development and to feel they contribute and are involved in our development.
I was so proud to share the steps that we took to realize this goal and present the results that we achieved, and which far surpassed our initial goals and plans. In fact, the initiative of one idea-sharing forum evolved naturally into three forums, by adding the Community peer-to-peer help forum (Questions & Answers) and a self-implementation platform (XTRF Academy). As a result, we have now implemented 33 ideas shared on the forum, and there are over 600 topics discussed by XTRF users in the Q&A forum. We are now building an e-learning platform to support XTRF implementation and training for all our users.
We could not have achieved these results without an open exchange with our users and clients, or without their valuable contribution, engagement and willingness to communicate so closely with us and each other. Having realized that, we decided to go one step further. And thus, at the end of my presentation, I was pleased to announce for the first time our plans to organize our inaugural XTRF Summit in Krakow, Poland, this year.
Let me share this now also with all of you and kindly invite you to join us in Krakow, on 5-6th of September 2019. We believe that early September will be a warm and sunny time in our beautiful city, and a fantastic opportunity for all of us to meet, exchange ideas and share our knowledge and friendship.
See you soon,
